The day started normal enough. I met tall new-staff as he exited his sleeping cushion. I followed him around to where the new-staffers have their food dishes but I noticed they didn’t leave the place known as downstairs at their normal time. But no matter. Tall new-staff and I had a great time with red dot and yellow string.
Wow. What a workout. That called for a little relaxing and apparently a photo shoot by tall new-staff.
Just as I was settling in for well earned morning nap, tall new-staff scoops me up and puts me in the cage. I didn’t even see it coming. Usually there is talk with vet words. Hmm. Short new-staff is making a fuss about something. She normally doesn’t say much.
Now she is full of words which sound nothing like vet words. Something about making a move. Mrrf. I’ve moved before. I think I remember. That’s how I got new-staff. Now short new-staff is saying something about my regular staff. (I remember them and I’m not entirely certain that the new-staffers weren’t hiding them in some boxes behind a door I could not open. I was able to follow tall new-staff into that room several times and found the corner where I think they are hiding. Regular staff’s big sleeping cushion is in there too.)
I sense short new-staff is anxious. Mrrrf! Not nearly as anxious as I am right now. But all her words included mention of finding my regular staff. If that is what a move brings, then it will be worth the trip.
You don’t know it, but you are so very brave Wednesday! You have a long journey ahead of you, but when you arrive you will get to see so many new types of birds! Some of them are as big as you! The journey itself is a bit scary (even for two-footers), but I promise the destination is much nicer than going to the vets.
Thank you new-staff for taking such amazing care of our little one. When we return to the States we will definitely arrange for Wednesday visits and in the meantime I will be sure to share photos and stories of her new life in New Zealand.
