What have I done to earn a holiday? Whatever it was, I must remember to never do it again.
After several naps in several loud cold boxes, which did not feel very much like a holiday at all, I was finally provided with my holiday room. The staff here is pleasant, but they sound funny, and cannot pronounce my name. No matter how much I ignore them in an attempt to train them to learn my name, they are unable to make the right sounds. I will continue to ignore them.
The room is very nice, and I sense that there are other cats nearby. I can smell them.
The holiday staff has also provided me with a hunting ground. There are noisy birds that I have never heard or smelled before. It is very exciting. Frustratingly, the holiday staff never remembers to open the veranda door for me. I do not know how they expect me to catch these funny birds without letting me get out for the hunt. I am sure there is a portal; I simply have yet to locate it. I will continue to search.
Sigh.
For now, I will relax and repose. Frankly, after the moving boxes and the changes in staff, I think I deserve it.
Wow! I checked out the facilities using Google maps and Street view. The quarantine area looks wonderful. I know it is not fun to be away from friends and family but at least the little apartments are well appointed with tasteful creature comforts. The little cot in the enclosed room is especially thoughtful. Hang in there Wednesday. The countdown of days continues.
