Home Again, Home Again

Today the staff who can’t say my name put me into the big moving box. Again. I was not pleased.

However, when I was let back out of the moving box, I was pleased to find that at last my demands had been met. You see, for months I’d been asking, in plain English, to see my “mum”. But instead of producing mum, everyone just looked at me, wide-eyed, and said to me, “Meow?”

So I would say again: “Mum.”

But all anyone ever said back was “Meow”, and there seemed to be no way to explain to them that I wasn’t just prattling off random sounds and noises, but that I wanted to see my mum.

Well, now someone has finally listened, and has delivered me to my mum. I couldn’t be happier.

Unfortunately, the staff member who steals my chairs came along as well. On the plus side, there seems to be lots more space here. There are cabinets and doors everywhere. I have tried to open them all but mum and her friend thwart me at every turn. I will wait until they are asleep, and then explore my new domain properly.

For now, I’m just happy to be back home at last. I will give mum and her friend some time to adjust to having me back, and then I will provide them with a list of changes to the house, and adjustments to their schedules. Also, the futon is mine. I wish they would stay off of it.

Wednesday! It is so good to hear from you again. I am glad to know that the trip is finally over and you are with your regular staff at last. I can tell by your mum’s smile that she is very glad to see you. If I didn’t know better, I’d guess that I’m reading some feline facial expressions that indicate your pleasure as well. Thanks for spending some time with us. And you may be surprised by this but the dog misses you. Nevertheless, you are welcome to visit again at anytime for any length of time. (I’ll keep a supply of yellow string and red dots just for you.)
    Happy napping!
    Tall new-staff sends.

True to her word, Wednesday spent most of last night attempting to open the closed doors and cabinets. She is still giving us time to adjust though and has not yet produced a list of demands and schedule changes. She was incredibly kind and even let me sleep in today!
