It’s down to the wire. By the time you read this post, Christmas will be spoken of in the past tense. Nevertheless, let me press on with a quick update.
Normally, I’d include many more details and several more photos because this is on the web and not on paper. However, this year is special. There is only the basic text and no photos. Several years from now I may revisit this page and make updates. Let me assure the gentle reader that nothing bad is happening.
I do not have a photo release from Tabitha who is quite guarded about having her likeness openly available on the web. Since, as a family member, she would have been featured in very many of this year’s photos, I needed to honor her wishes and not display the images.
The rest are not nearly as guarded but it wasn’t a big year for photos, so we got text:
Ed & Marilee
The big event for Marilee and I was attending a local family reunion. The details are even too long for the web but I can tell you it was a grand surprise.
Tabitha
She keeps busy with the usual demands of academia — writing books and articles, presenting at conferences, and grading essays. She contributed a chapter to a scholarly volume on women’s studies (“Exploring the Lives of Women 1558-1837”, chapter eight).
Seth & Jess
Seth finished writing a book covering a particular computer programing language for Apress publishers to be released March 2019. Jess has a permanent art-science installation at the popular Capital-E Children’s Center in the city of Wellington, New Zealand.
Joanna & Doug
They visited Wisconsin this past spring and have since spent their time
contemplating a possible relocation to a small town in that fair state. They haven’t been there in the winter yet. One really needs to be fond of winter to live in that part of the country. But their jobs are stable and there is no urgency.
William
Living in DC and working music-related jobs, one of his accomplishments is being the co-founder and administrator of the District New Music Coalition. The coalition promotes the advancement of contemporary music by bringing together composers, performers, and audiences in and around the DC area.
Marilee and I have signed *our* photo releases and hope you had a good year pondering and enjoying God’s blessings.
