In the paper version of this year’s letter, the last thing I mention is that I have fully retired from the workforce. By the time this is published, Marilee will have retired as well. We are excited for our next chapter in life. I tease Marilee about this being “honeymoon part 2” but we’ll report next year on how that plays out.

This year’s letter was originally distributed in the form of a graphic novel. You can see it here or continue to read on in a more conventional fashion.
Tabitha finished writing her book, Conduct Books and the History of the Ideal Woman. It will be published early in 2020. She’s still living in Dubai. She is teaching classes and traveling whenever her schedule allows. This year’s big trip was a week in Japan.
Seth & Jess (with cat Wednesday) had something of a frenzy over buying a house. They moved from the North Island to the South Island of New Zealand via ferry. Finding the right living quarters was a challenge. Stressful for a time but now they have settled into a nice house in Lawrence, Otago. You can read about their adventure here.
Joanna & Doug joined the crowds in Myrtle Beach, SC for Bike Week. While they don’t have a motorcycle, they reported that their vacation adventure was splendid and will probably do again. (So who needs a motorcycle for bike week?) During their time away, their two cats, Spice and Detective J. Butterscotch remain safely at home in Maryland with the kitty-sitter.
William has been writing music and teaching undergrad and grad students at three colleges (AU, CUA, UMD). With responsibilities like that, I have to wonder when he finds time to train for running full marathons in under 4 hours? (I’m impressed.)

And finally, we’d like to wish everybody a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We pray that during this season, you will reflect on this year’s experiences and recognize how God has worked in your life. Give thanks to Him for all things and know His peace.
